Chasm

A rallying cry against inequity

Live Site

Women-owned businesses receive a very small percentage of available investment capital from VC funds, with the vast majority going to businesses owned by men. CHASM is a membership-based group that’s seeking to pool resources in an effort to give female entrepreneurs a fighting chance. Haus was asked to create a website to tell the story and for membership signups.

THE CASE FOR CHASM

It’s a big problem, but it can be solved

The goal for CHASM’s public-facing website was to build a single page that could tell the CHASM story, outline their membership approach, and provide information for grant applicants. In our approach, we created custom visual elements to break up the flow of information with scroll-triggered animations and parallax to create an experience that felt engaging, rather than overwhelming. The end result was a site that led you down a narrative path that feels like a cross between an infographic and a storybook.

MEMBERS ONLY

Laying out the red carpet

For the second part of the project, we built an invite-only portal to sign up for a CHASM membership. The site had to feel like a VIP invitation to join a very exclusive club. Using the branding we established for the public-facing CHASM site, we created an experience that felt personal and direct for each prospective member.

Structured content

Sharing the wealth

Last, but certainly not least, we created an editorial platform within the site to house articles, grant information, and startup guides for women founders. The Chasm content hub aims to reinforce the idea of entrepreneurship as an empowering and accessible journey by offering strategic guidance and resources, as well as community. Playful visuals and bold type maintain the personality we developed for Chasm, while the filters and categorization offer functionality to help users find the information they’re after.
